Roll on the New Year as September has not been our best month!
We learnt last week that we came within a hair’s breadth of winning the competition to be the new occupants of the Theatre Museum space in Covent Garden. It is a remarkable achievement but second place is not part of this museum's vocabulary and we are now fully focussed on Plan B which again will take us to c20, 000 sq ft in the heart of London's West End.
Now this week we have had confirmation that our current temporary gallery in Boundary Road has to close till the new year to allow necessary refurbishment on the building which means we have to postpone this autumn's exhibitions of Hidden and Homeless 1989-2009, Poland to Paris and this year's International Jewish Artists of the Year Awards.
Ben Uri however is still hugely active outside St John's Wood with travelling exhibitions across the UK and abroad, our education programme Art in the Open in c 50 schools across England, our Art as Therapy building momentum in London and our Friends Programme.
My Board and Executive colleagues take this timely opportunity to send you our warmest wishes and look forward to seeing you very soon.
