Love Revealed: Simeon Solomon and the pre-Raphaelites

This fascinating exhibition will celebrate the career of the acclaimed Victorian artist Simeon Solomon; an associate of Rossetti and Burne-Jones. Solomon enjoyed early success; however, after his homosexuality became public knowledge in 1873 he was rarely able to exhibit his work again, relying for sales on a small circle of supportive patrons and friends. In recent years, Solomon’s work has been the focus of growing critical attention. He is increasingly recognised as a significant figure in the Pre-Raphaelite circle and appreciated as a talented artist of power and originality.
