Arthur Segal (1875-1944)

Artist Arthur Segal was born in Romania to Jewish parents in 1875. He died in 1944 in London.

He studied in Paris and Italy and moved to Berlin in 1904. He exhibited with Die Brücke and Der Blaue Reiter German expressionist groups. During the First World War he lived in Switzerland, exhibiting at the Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich. He returned to Berlin after the war but Nazi persecution forced him to leave in 1933 for Majorca and then London.
