Holocaust Education through the Ben Uri Collection

London Grid for Learning resource

A new resource exploring themes identified within a number of works from the Ben Uri collection is now available online to support Holocaust studies for GCSE History students and GCSE Art and Design students who wish to research Holocaust art.

The resource can be accessed on the London Grid for Learning (LGfL) Holocaust Education through the Ben Uri Collection website.

This resource can help students to ‘deconstruct’ art works and included are ideas for further thought and discussion, as well as some practical starting points for the creation of students’ own visual art work.

Bob Usher, LGfL content manager, said ‘This important new resource has been produced by experts in their field. Alix Smith from the Ben Uri Gallery has created resources of depth and sensitivity to widen the understanding of how key moments in history can be represented; and how art can play a role in our interpretation and understanding of such events.’
