Graphic artist and painter, born in Zborov, Czechoslovakia. He studied and exhibited in Prague in the 1930s, emigrating to Britain in 1939, losing much of his work in the process. He was exhibited at Bilbo’s Modern Art Gallery, the Czechoslovak Institute, London (1945), Roland, Browse & Delbanco (1950–54, 1959, 1961, 1964–5) and in Gothenburg (1962) and Prague (1963). In 1957 was commissioned by architect Eugene Rosenberg to produce a mural for Jews’ College, London (now the London School of Jewish Studies). A series of lithographs on Jewish Festivals is in the Ben Uri collection. His work is in public collections in London (Tate, Ben Uri), Leeds, Bradford, Southampton and Wakefield, as well as in Sweden, New Zealand, Czechoslovakia and Israel.
