Accompanying the wonderful illustrations are fascinating articles which explore Boris Aronson's professional journey adapting the discoveries of Russian and European avant-garde set design to the Jewish stage in New York and to his pioneering contribution to American modernist set design. Included is discussion of his artistic background in the studio of Alexandra Exter in Kiev, his ideology of creating modern Jewish art. his influence by and writing about Marc Chagall and his experimental work in New York.
