As an official Arts Award Supporter, we offer specialist school lesson programming which tie in with the curriculum as well as professional development for teachers. You can bring your students for a gallery visit or we can come to you, join us for teachers’ events and INSET sessions or download our free learning resources to use at a time to suit you.
We offer the opportunity for young people to gain their Arts Award Discover certificate by taking part in our augmented reality trails using GAMAR. Participants work their way around the gallery discovering the answers to a series of questions, and have the chance to learn more about the exhibited work and the artists as well as have a go at performance, photography and other creative processes.

Holocaust Memorial Day 25 January 2018
Ben Uri hosted a schools event at the gallery on Thursday 25th January in partnership with
The Association of Jewish Refugees and St George’s RC Secondary School in Maida Vale. The morning began with the opportunity for students to meet Holocaust Survivors and hear first hand accounts of their experiences. Following this, the students explored artworks from the Ben Uri collection which were made in response to the Holocaust, and took part in a group discussion and creative activity.
Ben Uri have a range of Holocaust Education resources available, which utilise key artworks from our collection.
Refugees: The Lives of Others
Free learning resource for Primary Schools
Our learning resource, exploring work by Eva Frankfurther, focuses on portraiture with the themes: identity, relationships and migration. Her portraits reflect the ethnically diverse, largely immigrant population of London in the 1950s. Pupils will have the opportunity to explore the history of the time through storytelling, role play and practical art activities, bringing portraits to life in an imaginative way.
